Debbie Reynolds tells us how the church of St Francis Xavier
in Liverpool is preparing to reopen.
For the past three weeks we’ve been slowly getting used to coming back into church for a quiet hour, just two days a week.
As from Monday 6 July, we’re going to be open for an hour, 11.30am to 12.30pm, so that we can celebrate 12noon Mass Mondays, Tuesdays, Thursday and Fridays.
We are very grateful to our community volunteers who dedicate their time to act as stewards, following the risk assessment guidelines given by the Archdiocese of Liverpool in welcoming and guiding people to their seats as well as the necessary cleaning afterwards.
Once we’re ok with this, especially with the restricted numbers due to social distancing, we’ll also move into celebrating Mass at weekend, but not just yet!
